Hancock Garage still unfinished as well as continuing to be unsafe?
Seven months after the $46 million garage was opened to the public as well as roughly at least six weeks behind schedule, it should come as no great surprise that work on the garage continues.
High crane trucks are installing new external features that clearly appear to not offer any improvement to the banal exterior design of the garage. They do, however, hint at perhaps being retrofitting of barriers to mitigate the chance of someone taking a header off of the top decks of the garage.
Quincy Quarry has long pointed out this apparent safety design shortcoming of the garage and perhaps the Koch Machine is finally addressing it.
Another long ongoing and certain safety problem with the garage, however, continues to appear to be untouched.
The safety alarm system alarm boxes scattered throughout the garage continue to not be functional. As this is a common alarm system on college campuses, in other garages, and the like, it is gobsmaking that this safety system continues to not be functioning.
Then again, who hasn’t to deal with a dysfunctional Koch Machine?
