What the Fluff? Another round of Metro Boston major events cancellations announced.
With the COVID-19 pandemic only barely starting to saw signs of moderating in the second hottest hot spot state in the country, Somerville’s always fun for all Fluff Festival honoring a beloved hometown sweet treat is among the various well-attended summer and fall Somerville public events cancelled given the COVID-19 pandemic.
Additionally, Boston Mayor Marty Walsh announced on Friday that Boston’s COVID-19.Public Health Emergency Order will remain in place until further notice after previously announcing that Boston’s annual Fourth of July celebration will not not happening this year.
Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch, however, is yet again going against the tide – if not also against common sense – by planning to reopen recreational facilities at twenty-two local parks on Monday per announced restrictions which Quincy Quarry views as unlikely to be effectively implemented..
So what, apparently, for the fact that Quincy officials were unable to head off a crush of people hitting closed Wollaston Beach last weekend.

Don’t get a Granite Communications buzz cut, no memo for Mini-Me wannabe?

Additionally troubling, it would appear that Mayor Koch did not receive the memo from Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker that he was extending the statewide public emergency order which had been scheduled to expire on Sunday at midnight.
That and how Governor Baker has kept his plans on what will be allowed to resume operation in the first of a four stage plan to move to a COVID-19 new normal under wraps at least as tight as a gender reveal party.
