David Portnoy: “Winning“

Barstool Sports’ Dave Portnoy wins auction to hang wtih NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell at his house watching a Monday Night Football Game.
In one of arguably the biggest unforced errors in the history of sports, Roger Goodelll is looking at having to hang in his man cave during a Monday Night Football game with “sports/smut” pop culture blog Barstool Sports’ founder and now Director of Content David Portnoy.
As is well-known to at least a sizeable segment of sports fans, Portney has long been a thorn in Goodell’s tukas and in turn Barstool Sports blogsters have long been banned from attending official invitation-only NFL events.
And now Roger Goodell is facing his own manner of Portnoy’s complaint – spending an evening with Milton MA native David Portnoy in Goodell’s man cave watching a Monday Night Football Game as Portnoy submitted the winning bid on an NFL COVID-19 charitable fundraising auction.
That and confirming that Commissioner Goodell does not have a clue about social distancing.

David Portnoy first announced participating in Roger Goodell’s fund raising auction during this year’s virtual NFL Draft, when Portnoy put down a $50,000 bid for the prize and vowed that he was willing to go to seven figures “without blinking ” if need be to win the auction.
The winning bidding did not require seven digits, however, as $250,450.00 was the winning bid and so further added to Goodell’s suffering of unintended negative consequences.
For example, that Roger apparently does not have a friend who could have shilled up the bidding and so increased the cost to Portney for the winning bid..
