Quincy Quarry Weekly Fish Wrap: Roadkill only gets flatter.
While none of all manner of long overdue hittings of the fan have yet to hit Quincy’s long and variously well-deserving Koch Maladministration, a handful of Democratic presidential nomination contenders were kicked to the curb when “Sleeping Joe” Biden woke a whole lot of voters on Super Tuesday.
What a difference a week can make, especially when it comes to this election cycle.
The former vice president had gotten off to a slow start in the early Democratic caucuses and the New Hampshire primary, only to then come back with unexpectedly big blowout win over the weekend in the South Carolina primary and then went on to roll into the delegate count lead care of Super Tuesday primaries.
Needless to say, many a pollster came away with egg on his or her face.
A whole lot of egg.
While Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders is still in the hunt, it would appear that his second quixotic quest for the Oval Office is on the ropes or at least was hit with a standing eight count. In turn, Bernie and his bros were quick to cry foul over an alleged sucker-punching of their candidate by the Democratic Party’s leadership.
No official acknowledgment yet, however, that Bernie is not a registered Democrat from either Sanders or the party itself.
Then again, solid arguments can also be made that President Trump is not exactly a cloth-coat Republican.
In any event, Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren’s arguably even more quixotic presidential quest is ovah in the wake of her coming in a distant third place in this week’s Massachusetts Democratic presidential primary.
Even so, count on Quincy Quarry to continue to monitor her staggering along in the night of the living dead.
