West Squantum Street water main break fixed and road reopened.
While the City of Quincy Department of Public Work was not able to effect all repairs needed to reopen West Squantum Street at its intersection with Fayette Street until the very end of today’s fortunately light holiday week morning commute, sufficient repairs were effected in time to facilitate those heading out today for last minute holiday shopping.
UPDATE: Road has opened.
Please be advised that paving has been scheduled for THURSDAY 12/26 at 7:30am. At that time, the road will once again be closed. Please plan your commute accordingly. @Waze_MA @WBZTraffic https://t.co/XfxTxHYn31

At the same time, those who do have to work the day after Christmas or are planning to hit the stores early so as to return gifts and/or take the best possible advantage of after holiday clearance sales would be well-advised that further repaving work has been been scheduled for Thursday at 7:30 AM and that the impacted streets will thus once again be closed while repaving is underway.
As such, plan any traveling through North Quincy in the morning on the day after Christmas Day accordingly.
