Bob Kraft is sorry – of course he is …
A local public broadcaster reports the New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft over the weekend said – but without admitting any guilt – that he’s “truly sorry” for letting down family, fans and friends after being charged more than a month ago with soliciting prostitution at a Florida massage parlor.
While Robert Kraft offered up a contrite statement about his legal problems over the usually weekend news cycle, the statement did not really address what he is sorry about doing, much less who all he allegedly retained to do him, or what he plans to do to rectify this sordid affair.
In turn, looking to the the reactions of a number of local pundits, Kraft’s non-apology apology is not finding favor, much less engendering forgiveness.
A reporter at the Boston daily tabloid wrote that it would be a good thing if Kraft were to directly admit wrongdoing and, going forward, not drag his late wife into the controversy.
And a columnist at the Boston broadsheet noted that “(a)t the the risk of seeming churlish, Kraft’s apology didn’t do much for me. There’s so much it doesn’t address, including what he was doing at a strip-mall massage parlor in the first place.”
Needless to say, it would appear that Robert Kraft is looking to continue to be embroiled in a likely continuing controversy and as a longtime friend of his is also embroiled with lingering controversies of his own.
