Quincy Quarry News Weekly Fish Wrap: Let it snow, let it go — whatever …
After mostly but briny and but modest snowfall events this winter, Quincy was finally hit with a middling to solid mid-range snowfall.
In response to finally having a significant snowfall event to cover, major local media as well as Quincy Quarry so coasted on snow coverage stories.
Needless to say, local responses to the snowfall were only as to be expected.
That and how thus City Hall VIP parking snow job stories all but write themselves.
As usual, City Hall yet again dropped the plow seeing to it that nowhere other than in and around City Hall was thoroughly ploughed.
How bad was the Koch Maladministration’s response to the storm?
Even the MBTA did more to clear snow-covered curbside public parking in Quincy Center than did the City of Quincy.
the Q-ing T!
Moving along to matters of more regional as well as national interest, The Atlantic found that Suffolk County and mostly the City of Boston to most likely be the most partisanly prejudiced larger county in the United States.
So much, apparently, for some Red State county being named the champion of partisan prejudice.
And as for other breaking badly national bad news, economists have further shifted their sentiments towards an increasing likelihood of at least a cooling of the economy.
Granted, perhaps not a full-on recession or happening anytime on the near horizon.
Rather, perhaps more that at some point the ongoing and record=setting economic upturn is probably looking at least a hiccup of some sort or other given all manner of nascent signs of arcane quantitation economic indicators of The Dismal Science suggesting same.
Moving along to the latest Trump being Trump coverage, Trump announced at last weekend’s Conservative Political Action Committee conclave that he will soon be issuing an executive order terminating federal funding to colleges and universities that do not allow the exercise of free speech on campus.
Needless to say, even more crossings across the line as well as then so challenging campus police lines by protesters and worse are only to be expected.
That and how protesters appear to be ignorant of a famous Star Wars admonition.
