Quincy traffic safety and sidewalk continue to be unsafe in Quincy Center.
While out and about on the ever-increasingly mean and soon to be frigid streets of Quincy, Quincy Quarry News personnel yet again happened upon a long incomplete traffic signal and sidewalk repairs at the very busy intersection of Burgin and Hannon Parkways.
The half-finished repairs has been unfinished for upwards of two months or more at this point and so have both inconveniencing able pedestrians as well as making things all but impossible for the wheelchair bound to travel.
Quincy Quarry considered reaching out to the City of Quincy Department of Public Works as well as the Traffic, Parking, Alarm and Light Department to enjoy witnessing their pointing the fickle finger of blame at each other over why no one has been able to lay around but maybe twenty square feet of concrete sidewalk, but decided to be kind out of respect to Thanksgiving Day.
Plus, both departments have already provided all manner of amusements to the Quarry in recent years.
In one aspect this is sort of an improvement. This light/signal pole was previously — for the better part of a year — held together with duct tape.
