Newly repaved Quincy street now torn-up.
After years of being one of the more pothole patched busy neighborhood street in Quincy, Elm Street was resurfaced a month ago. While none of the sunken curbstones were reset or any sidewalks redone, a thin coat of new pavement and then slurry topcoat still yielded a much appreciated improvement in this street’s surface.
In turn, and as proof of the admonition that no good deed goes unpunished – as well as yet again proof positive of the abject lack of project management skills within the Koch Maladministration, the recently repaved road was then dug up to accommodate an underground utility line makeover and then patched.
Quincy Quarry considered reached to the City of Quincy’s Department of Public Works for comment; however, no one could stop laughing long enough to be able to inquire.
Plus, the Quarry is already aware of storm drains that are still paved over closed from the also recent repaving of another nearby street south of Quincy Center.
In other words, yet again: Only in the Q.
Not to mention the major lengthy re-deconfiguring and Q-ing up of the relatively new Revere Rd./McGrath Hgwy. Yet another Charlie Foxtrot courtesy of the Koch regime.
Additionally, it appears that there’s an odd and curious process taking place on an almost daily basis. Roads that have recently — within a couple of years, anyway — been configured, reconfigured, deconfigured, and finally paved or repaved are now being dug up again — which will require extensive re-repaving! And many streets and roads that are in desperate need of repaving are left to crumble. SOP in the Q.
