Working but not working hard in the heat?

Quincy Quarry Weekly Fish Wrap:  The Heat is on – and in more ways than one …

Concurrent with summer inflicting some final blasts of heat before it falls into fall, there is surely also plenty of heat coming out of City Hall to see that the Hancock/Adams Commons – better known as Kim Jong Koch Plaza – is “sufficiently” completed for its scheduled all day long gala dedication this coming Saturday.

A City On The Move …

So what, apparently, for the fact this current construction is in but Phase Two of a planned three-phase and thus even more expensive yet proposition than the $35 million per WBZ.

Phase Three is slated to be fully designed and then perhaps built once the MBTA comes up with a plan to develop a long term replacement of its Quincy Center Station as opposed to the current work underway to but tear down the T’s long condemned and closed garage and make what is left of its station serviceable in the meanwhile.

When, however, is unknown as the T has announced that it has no money to redo the station as well as thus not noted even but a glint of a hint of but a vague time range as to when and how a new station might perhaps actually be fully funded and then perhaps actually built.

In short, so much for a public transit-oriented redevelopment of a New Quincy Center and say hello to an interminable continuation of Quincy’s mini Big Dig …

Dog ate the summer school work
A Quincy Quarry News file photo

And as for other heat, Quincy Quarry has assigned Quarry personal to monitoring a number of summer work projects at local schools that were not completed before the start of a new school year.

In this instance, however, the school department is not to blame.

Rather, these latest Q-up’s in the Q are the result of the Koch Maladministration’s all but invariably misdoing.

Yet again …

A train wreck
A Lévy and Sons photo

A handful of years ago, the Koch Maladministration consolidated the two formerly separate school buildings and all other city buildings’ maintenance units into a single and now even more dysfunctional department run by a hack appointment with a history of less than stellar performance in other city posts.

Then again, rumor has it that care of investing with the now-incarcerated Dan FlynnFlam and thus this hack needed a much better-paying city job.
