Quincy White Christmas late in arriving.
Quincy’s White Christmas forecast almost was a wash out.
Fortunately, the old New England adage about waiting ten minutes if you don’t like the weather has yet again proved itself apt.
While at first light, Quincy was strictly wet from overnight rain, shortly before nine in this morning the precipitation turned to snow as the wind concurrently commenced gusting up to blizzard-level wind speeds.
In turn, one can only assume that Christmas treats sugar-buzzed children will soon be insisting on going outside and then tracking in mud just as grandma arrives to offer comment on your housekeeping skills.
Needless to say, many Christmas gathering hosts will so be driven to nip away at the egg nog after first clearing snow and mopping up the mud.
On the other hand, grandmother might not make it over the river and through the woods.
As near as Quincy Quarry could tell, neither city workers nor workers working for city snow and ice clearing contractors would appear to have treated local streets with either brine or rock salt in expectation of frozen precipitation.
All things considered, such was probably a good thing given that the New England Patriots played in one of two late games yesterday.
