Quincy weathers Sunday’s overnight windy rainstorm with minimal disruption.

Quincy fortunately only suffered modestly from last night’s high winds and heavy rainfall whereas a number of other neighboring communities suffering thousands of homes with their power out, trees down, the start of school delayed and/or local flooding.

For but one example, Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton was running on generator power this morning.

In Quincy, however, only 200 National Grid electricity customers lost power power whereas a number of nearly and much less thickly settled South Shore communities suffered thousands of electric customers left without service care of last night’s storm.

Also fortunate, the forecast for today is for clearing skies as well as that fair weather can be expected for those who plan to head out and about tomorrow evening for Halloween trick or treating.
