Quincy Quarry Weekly Fish Wrap: The Evil Empire’s deadline has arrived.
After many months of communities, states and even provinces pimping what all they are willing to do for Amazon, yesterday was the day that they had to formally offer up what all they are willing to do.
As such, while Quincy does not appear to be offering its favors to this particular trick, Quincy Quarry has still opined what a City of Quincy solicitation of Amazon might have looked like.
Speaking of deadlines, this past Monday was the deadline for submissions of bids for leasing the air rights over the Quincy Center MBTA station.
While there is currently a curfew of a sort as to if or how many bids were submitted to the MBTA, given Quincy Quarry’s every growing number of reliable sources, rumor has it that the current owner of the former Quincy Medical Center is submitting a bid.
Additionally, this bid is said to be a largely residential plan to add even more premium rate residences in Quincy Center where there is already looking to be an oversupply of same.
What is not known, however, is if the rent payments for the air rights proposed by this purported bid will be sufficient to provide the funding needed to help pay for renovating the Quincy Center MBTA station as well as replacing its over five years’ ago condemned and so closed parking garage.
If a sufficient rental payment proposal is not tendered, such will send the MBTA back to the fund raising drawing board.
Such would also further delay Quincy Center from having a modern public transportation facility necessary to tout the long touted New Quincy Center as a truly modern transportation oriented development.
Then again, puffing things to a fair thee well is nothing new for the Koch Maladministration.
In any event as well as on other fronts, Quincy Quarry ran yet another exposé of apparent goldbricking for overtime by Quincy Department of Public Works workers last Sunday.
Then again, perhaps DPW has a blue law policy proscribing working on Sunday.
More likely, however, it appears to be everyday.
In any event, only Quincy Quarry among all area news media has the stones to duly report the news of the Q and as it continues to break mostly badly.
