Former congressman Anthony Weiner pleads guilty in teen ‘sexting’ case.
The former Democratic congressman pleaded guilty on Friday.
He plead out to a charge of electronically transferring obscene material to a minor via personal digital assitant telecommunication.
Appearing before U.S. District Court Judge Loretta Preska in New York City, Anthony Weiner agreed not to appeal any prison sentence of twenty-seven months or less as part of his plea deal with federal prosecutors.
The only good news for this wiener is that at least he is out the woods with the feds over the Clinton email server mess.
Hillary Clinton, however, it would appear not so likely.
Federal agents had seized Weiner’s laptop during that email probe and so discovered a batch of emails via his likely soon be former wife Huma Abedin, a long time senior aide to Hillary Clinton.
Eventually, however, it was determined that these emails – unlike Weiner’s risque wiener selfies – had been inadvertently downloaded onto his laptop via an automatic back-up software app apparently used by Ms. Abedin.
At least that is the story and so far he has been sticking to it.
