French Presidential Election survives a massive email hack attack.
In ways often eerily reminiscent of last fall’s US Presidential elections, this time the hack victim instead came out on top.
The election was fraught with not only the only to be expected French intrigue, but also all manner of Russian intrigue.
In the end, however, the perhaps somewhat left of center candidate Emmanuel Macron trounced the über right wing nationalist candidate Marine Le Pen in a 66% to 34% blowout following what had been a hard fought election campaign that at times was extremely volatile even for the hot-blooded French and which – unlike the United States – operates via a strictly a popular vote decided election protocol.
President-elect Macron, who is only thirty-nine years old, will be the youngest French President since Napoleon.
Conversely, Macron’s wife and now the incoming First Lady of France is very much his senior.
How much his senior, however, Quincy Quarry is too polite to mention other than to note that she is old enough to be his mother as well as is only several years younger than his mother.
Regardless, age knows no boundaries, especially in France, although typically things are more May-December than December-May.
