– News about Quincy from Quincy Quarry News

Quincy City Hall Snow Jobs continue with no apparent end in sight.

With this morning’s modest and quick coating of snow, City of Quincy Department of Public Works workers were actually out working to clear snow.

Unfortunately for most residents, however, a prime focus of their work was on Quincy’s City Hall.

Business as usual …

As usual, the City Hall VIP parking lot had been duly salted and was thus clear down to the pavement well before City Hall opens up for business.

Similarly, city mini-plows were clearing the entrance way to City Hall as well as the sidewalks and promenades through the temporary Hancock Adams Green in front of City Hall.

In fact, as well as for a first, a Department of Public Works salt brining truck was out brining the sidewalk in front of City Hall.

So what, apparently, for the fact that brining pavement is best done BEFORE snow falls.

Fortunately for the overwhelming majority of Quincy which did not enjoy such a high level of snow removal effort, the snowfall was brief as well as for the most part quickly melted off by mid-morning.

Unfortunately, however, upwards of five to six or more inches of snow is forecast for Sunday and who the Q knows how well as well as where the snow removal efforts are focused.

Actually, Quincy Quarry readers know – all too well as a matter of fact.
