Trump trumped in Iowa caucuses.
After running upwards of a handful of points ahead in Iowa polling in recent weeks, Donald Trump came in second in Monday night’s Iowa Republican caucuses.
While the swing was within the statistical margin of error, the swing for Trump went from several percentage points ahead to several behind Iowa winner Ted Cruz.
Possible reasons include that Trump confused televised viewer ratings with polling data for actually likely to attend the caucus, a fair number of his supporters were foul weather friends given the forecast of a blizzard on the night of the caucuses and/or that his decision to bail on last week’s Republican candidates debate in Des Moines did not play well with upright Iowans.
Regardless, Karma came a calling as a previous Trump Twitter tweet came back to haunt him.
