– News about Quincy from Quincy Quarry News
City of Quincy loses C Mart lawsuit.
As long expected as well as nineteen months long or longer waiting for the judge to finally issue his ruling in the matter of C Mart versus the City of Quincy, the City of Quincy yet again lost in court and so keeping its all but invariably defeated record intact.
As word of the judge’s ruling was just released, details as to any damages also awarded to C Mart in addition to the judge’s ordering that the City of Quincy issue a use permit to C Mart have yet to become known.
In the meanwhile, Quincy taxpayers should expect to find themselves on the hook for at at least the court and other related costs of both the City as well as C Mart, the total of which the Quarry Quarry’s legal experts project as running in at least the high six-figure range, if not crossing over into seven figures.
And as for any other damages, such could well run into millions.
Quincy Quarry considered reaching out to the City Consiglieri for comment; however, it opted to not bother as he never returns calls as well as that he is expected to be leaving his post shortly on mutually less than warm terms.
My boy Timmins makes another great move. Wonder what the total equals out to from all his decisions that involve money. Is the city ahead?
First “Flynn-Flam”, then Adams Trust / Woodward School fiasco and now this……..looks like “the worm has turned”. Dour moods permeating newly refurbished 1305 Hancock Street, to be certain.
And the nitwits in city hall are considering yet another appeal.
The definition of insanity …
Dom,
As always, you are way too kind in your assessment of the denizens inside of City Hall.
