Quirk gets quirked by state over illegal campaign contributions.
Both Quincy and Braintree car mogul Dan Quirk was fined $60,000.00 by the Massachusetts Office of Campaign and Political Finance over his making excessive campaign contributions to politicians via straw third parties.
In yet another Quincy Quarry exclusive, the Quarry was graciously provided with a copy of the Office of Campaign and Political Finance’s Disposition Agreement in this matter and it can be read here.
Per Quincy Quarry’s review of the officially posted Disposition Agreements reached with the Office of Campaign Finance by other malefactors over the past six years, Quirk’s fine was the fifth highest among the twenty-five fines so listed.
Quirk was further prohibited from making any straw contributions to any state or local candidates for political office through a third party or using his places of business to encourage others to contribute to any candidates for three years.
No word, however, was mentioned as regards prohibiting the providing of any sweet deals on a new ride.
The Office of Campaign and Political Finance found 39 instances of Quirk using straw third parties to illegally contribute $500.00 at a time, for a total of $19,500.00 in illegal contributions.
$7,000.00 in excessive contributions were found to have been grifted to Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch, $6,000.00 to Quincy Ward Two Councillor Brad Croall, a so far inexplicable $4,000.00 to former member of both houses of the apparently generally corrupt General Court Warren Tolman, and a mere $2,500.00 to now Governor Charlie Baker.
The fine could have perhaps been worse given four $1,000.00 contributions that were made to the Koch Committee this year by Quirk employees; however, these employees signed affidavits attesting to the fact that their contributions were both freely made and that they were not reimbursed by anyone and what car dealership employee is not to be taken on his – or her – word.
Similarly, all of the candidates and/or their senior staff also went on the record claiming that they had no knowledge of the illegal excessive campaign contributions that came their way via straw persons and everyone knows that a politician should be taken on his – or her – word, subject, of course, to close review of their deeds.
Even so, all of the candidates who were grifted cash by Quirk are still required to give away all of these illegal contributions to a not for profit of their respective individual choice whether they care to do so – or more likely do not care to do as such will put at least the Koch Committee’s books into the red.
Moreover, while Quincy Quarry is not yet ready to report on more suspected irregularities involving the Koch Committee campaign fund, given Koch’s long, problematic and arguably sordid history of campaign fund irregularities going back the days when Dan FlynnFlam was still both flush as well as not yet under federal indictment for multiple as well as major felony counts, Quincy Quarry readers can expect the Quarry to continue to follow the money.

Quirky Kochanomics. Looks like it’s payback time for the voters of Quincy. Vote in a spendaholic and feed the corruption machine. Next time I am in the market for a vehicle I am taking my wallet elsewhere. Not conducting business with Quirk Jerks
