Weymouth Mayor Sue Kay finishes a far distant second in primary.
Challenger State Senator Bob Hedlund (Republican, Weymouth) garnered 55% of the vote versus duly embattled incumbent Weymouth Mayor Sue Kay’s 23%.
While Mayor Sue Kay supporters are sure to be feeling down today with a post-election hangover, the election results in yesterday’s Weymouth primary are sure to both hearten long oppressed Quincy residents while at the same time sending even more chills down the spines of the all but spineless Koch Maladministration apparatchiks long used to lazily porking out at the public trough.
Unfortunately for Weymouth residents, a solid majority of the votes in a 6 candidates race notwithstanding, they will be suffering another 7 weeks of campaign pandering until the all but foregone conclusion for November’s general election becomes official.
At her post-election party, Mayor Sue Kay noted the following about her woefully dismal distance second place finish, “it gives me a real drive and incentive to work harder because it’s not over till the fat lady sings and this fat lady hasn’t sung yet.”
Further unfortunate for Weymouth residents, Dandy Don Meredith is unable to sing goodnight as his lights went out in 2010.
Fortunately, his singing career lives on on YouTube.

Here’s to hoping our own rotund municipal chief executive is forced to make a similar contrite statement after next Thursday’s primary.
