Quincy ward heeler continues weaseling on local trafficking?
As reported previously, Quincy’s number one ward heeler apparently failed to undertake before the city council adjourned for the summer to schedule the simple steps as well as mandatory city council hearings and votes to effect traffic signage changes long sought by a local neighborhood long terrorized by heavy trafficking by suspected commuters through their quiet residential neighborhood.
Rather than admit that she had so Q-ed up, Quincy Quarry has previously as well as surely sufficiently documented that she is said to have variously as well as mistakenly claimed such things that the Massachusetts Department of Conversation (“DCR”) was holding up things; allegedly also said that the germane state representative was lying when he (correctly, ed.) stated that DCR had no say or role in the proposed changes to local street traffic regulations, much less had caused any delay; as well as is further said to have stated that the President of the City Council refused to schedule special meetings over the summer recess to hear (strictly, ed.) her request to pass the applicable ordinance(s) needed to impose traffic control and flow changes sought by the long complaining and even longer suffering neighborhood.
While her last claim may possess a kernel of truth, the fact of the matter is that it is still utterly ridiculous for her to have expect that the Council President go the trouble and not inconsiderable expensive to hold a special quick meeting over the council’s summer recess so as to cover her posterior after her Q-ing up in the first place.
So hard-hitting was the whole of Quincy Quarry’s initial coverage of the whole of this sorry and bogus excuses-filled story that, among other things, arguable improper action by a Quincy police patrol officer resulted and which the police department then arguably whitewashed a complaint filed by a private citizen over the officer’s suspect actions.
Regardless, then so left in the lurch that a special meeting was not to be convened so as to endeavor to over the ward heeler’s own as well as sole failure to act in a timely manner in spite of ample time and opportunity to act, she then proceeded to throw her considerable weight around and so saw to it that the City of Quincy just install the promised signage.
So what, apparently, for the abject lack of due process to approve the imposition of the various requested traffic flow changes and so necessary signage.
After all, it is an election year and it is widely viewed that this ward heeler is by far the most vulnerable member of the current city council come election day.
Granted, one readily appreciate the concerns of the long terrorized residents, especially those with small children, to see changes implemented.
At the same time, however, these same residents have been complaining for roughly three years and only then was something finally done by their ward heeler in ways done in complete disregard to the rule of law as well as arguably only done as it is an election year. As such, the impacted residents rancor should only be heightened by the ward heeler’s misactions.
That and so not teaching the also impacted children with a proper civics lessons by instead going with the same old same old disregard of the rule of law that has long been the also long festering ways things are all too often misdone in the Q.
That – as well as again – this ward heeler’s concurrently offering up wholly bogus as well as weaseling excuses when the unarguable as well as simple fact of the matter is she utterly failed to file in a timely manner a simple as well as utterly standard hearing request to seek the all but certain formal and proper approval of the requested changes after all of the other necessary steps had – if not also amazingly – been undertaken by other City of Quincy units.
Adding to the mess, arguably the best– as well as arguably easiest and quickest – way to effectively resolve this neighborhood’s traffic concerns is to have the City of Quincy install traffic-slowing speed bumps on the impacted streets AND which is something that does not appear to require any review and then required approval of the city council.
After all, at the end of the day this situation is clearly a case in point wherein both all too many drivers as well as city officials refuse to abide by the posted rules and it is thus time to inconvenience their tukises as with – say – some well-deserved bumps in their roads.
