Quincy Mayor to testify at MBTA reform legislation hearing today?
As duly embattled incumbent Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch is apparently still the Chair of the MBTA Advisory Board and thus one of the very few senior officials left in place at the T after Koch’s somewhat recent bff and now Governor Charlie Baker pretty much cleaned house at the MBTA after its many shortcomings this past winter, will Koch be repaying Charlie by testifying today on Beacon Hill in support of Baker’s virtual receivership plans to takeover and so reform the long festering mess that it the MBTA.
If so, one can only reasonably expect that such will only increase organized labor unions’ distaste for Quincy’s shortcomings-plagued mayor Thomas P. Koch. In this case, the Boston Carmen’s Local 589 as well as various other unions at the T.
Expect Quincy Quarry to cover whether – or not – embattled incumbent Mayor Thomas P. Koch opts to throw himself onto the third rail of politics, at least as far as yet another union is concerned.
