Quincy Department of Public Works workers caught actually fixing potholes!
Quincy Quarry is the first to admit that it has a reputation of pointing out shortcomings by City of Quincy employees.
Then again, the shortcomings are all too obvious.
Still, fair is only fair and Quincy Quarry thus must only properly note that yesterday it happened across a Department of Public Works crew repairing potholes in the pothole-laden Hancock Parking Lot in Quincy Center near a favorite local sports watering hole.
At the same time, old bad habits die hard as at least some of the DPW crew were spotted doing what DPW workers have long been accused of all too often doing.
Of further concern, one can only wonder why they were tasked with fixing potholes in a city parking lot slated to be sold relatively soon when many of the increasingly mean streets of Quincy are fraught with potholes.
For but one example out of innumerable others, on Newport Avenue northbound near the Cathay Pacific restaurant in North Quincy there is a pothole that has been described to a Quarry staffer as better seen as a (military, ed.) tank trap.
Even so, some progress is still progress, however curiously prioritized.
At the same time, Quincy Quarry did not reach out to Department of Public Works Commissar Dan “Spanky” Raymondi for comment.
Reasons include that the Quarry did not have the time to listen to Spanky go on and on and on and on even more about the heroic efforts of the men and (very few, ed.) women at the Department of Public Works when it knows better about all too many of them, especially certain of its middle managers.
As such, expect Quincy Quarry to continue to run hard-hitting exposés about the all too easily exposed as often as possible.
Plus, Spanky is on record as at least willing to be spanked, not that anyone on the Quarry staff is up for satisfying this kink.
