Crumbling concrete, leaking roofs and busted elevators: the state of the T is abysmal.

And as if this should come as any great surprise to the legions of long suffering MBTA subway strap hangers, commute train passengers and bus riders.

MBTA parking blocked off from use

This troubling report is based on a preliminary MBTA review from last year that was prepared in advance of filings required by the Federal Transit Agency this year.

The review found that nearly 60 percent of 378 stations and parking facilities scored 2 or less out of a possible 5, meaning that they were in need of significant repairs.

Even worse, seventy-eight of those properties  – and thus over 20% of the 378 stations and parking facilities – had a rock bottom rating of 1.
