French Elections News: the predicted hack attack has happened.

 

Expectation turned to reality Friday night in France when the somewhat liberal candidate for President Emmanuel Macron suffered a massive hack of his campaign’s email files. 

 

Needless to say, many in the media all but instantly pointed fingers at Russia as the source of the hack given considerable as well as ongoing Russian intrigue involving French über right wing nationalist candidate Marine Le Pen.

Unaddressed, however – except by Quincy Quarry – is why it is apparently so hard for candidates – especially professed liberals ones – to not see that their technical staff set up a properly secure email system?

 

After all, as well as contrary to public opinion, there are all manner of applicable encryption software and other security tools available to readily assure secure sensitive online communications.
