Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch is yet again facing disgorgement over illegal campaign contributions
For the fifth time in less than a year, Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch’s campaign fund will have to yet again “disgorge” illegal campaign donation money.
Per one media report, this is the eleventh time that the Massachusetts Office of Campaign Finance has ordered disgorgement over “true source” illegal campaign contributions made to a variety of candidates for local and state political offices since 2013.
And per Quincy Quarry’s admittedly unofficial count, Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch’s campaign fund is by far the most frequently ordered to disgorge illegal campaign contributions among all of surely thousands of candidates for state and local offices who have to file campaign reports with the Office of Campaign and Political Finance.
Quincy Quarry considered reaching out to Koch Maladministration spokesmodel Pinocchio Walkbacker for comment about this latest Office of Campaign and Political Finance Disposition Agreement to inflict a debit on the Koch campaign bank account, but the Quarry did not see the point of wasting the Quarry’s valuable time listening to him claim it was yet again all but coincidence that Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch’s campaign fund has been by far the most often spanked campaign fund by the Office of Campaign and Political Finance.
Plus, for a change, the Quarry took pity on Walkbacker over what has surely been a rough week given Mayor Koch’s widely criticized joint naming of a local high school sports field for a family whose whose ranks included a family member who both was a former Quincy Public Schools Superintendent as well as would likely would be banned from setting foot on any school campus in at least the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Even so, Mayor Koch is probably nowhere out of the woods at least as regards illegal campaign contributions as Koch is number three on the list of local officials who have been caught up in the massive multi-million dollar suspected illegal campaign contribution scandal that rocked the Democratic Party and most especially Secretary Hillary Clinton’s latest bid to return to the White House earlier this month but shortly after her campaign went down in flames two weeks ago.
To date, Quincy Quarry counts roughly $12,000.00 in disgorgements imposed upon the Koch campaign fund by the Office of Campaign and Political Finance as well as that the Quarry would not at all be surprised if thousands more will also be ordered disgorged.
Fortunately, Mayor Koch undertook a rather sizeable fundraising effort in early October and thus also surely but coincidentally shortly before the latest round of disgorgements were ordered this month.
Unfortunately, most of the contributors appear to be city employees and who are thus looking to be less flush to hit the malls and score some “Black Friday” deals later this week.
In any event, as well as as always, count on Quincy Quarry to both keep counting the disgorgement orders as well as following the money.
