Quincy Mayor Koch trafficking in illegal parking?
Courtesy of one of Quincy Quarry’s growing legion of Citizen Journalist, the Quarry was again able to photograph embattled incumbent Mayor Thomas P. Koch’s environmentally at least dirty gray as well as dark gray gas-guzzling pick-up truck parking arguably illegally along Washington Street in front of the side of the Quincy Mutual Insurance company building.
Not only was the space used by the mayor’s massive ride not duly stripped for parking, this stretch of curb formerly featured No Parking signs before they were destroyed – along with many other street signs – in the Q last winter during the mayor’s apparently now $16 million dollar snow job as per the Southshore broadsheet.
As the mayor was seen scurrying into the Quincy Access Television studies, it can only be assumed that he was racing in to record his weekly broadcast puff pieces which – in turn – a surely grateful station manager given her son’s hiring onto the Quincy Fire Department will likely see receives maximum play in advance of next week’s mayoral election.
Quincy Quarry readers will recall that this is not first time that the mayor has caught problematically parking his ride in this same spot so that he could make a recording session at Quincy Access Television.
In previous coverage, the Quarry further reported eyewitness coverage that he was also driving so dangerously as to almost caused a multiple vehicle accident.
As such, both drivers as well as especially pedestrians are advised to be on the lookout for a late model dark gray Chevy Z-71 model extended cab pick-up with a vanity license plate number of “QUINCY.”
In the meanwhile, the burning unanswered question is why does the mayor continue to drive to the Quincy Access Television studios when it would be both easier as well as easier to walk to them from City Hall than to drive.
Plus, there is no question that he could use the exercise.
Expect Quincy Quarry to continue to report on this problematic driver whenever the opportunity arises.

With all the construction in the center it’s a “no brainer” – the mayor could walk there faster than drive!
Our mayor is not the picture of health, King Koch is as wide as his Z-71… a little brisk walk is in order
….but maybe he is fearful of taxpayers and/or local businesses tossing a few rotten tomatoes in his direction.
Now if the peasants were throwing cannollies at him he would walk everywhere!
Let’s not get petty about people’s looks! Center in on the terrible job he does instead. Or the fact that he should not be driving a gas guzzler but a hybrid!
Sandra,
On one hand, I can appreciates your dig about body image digs. On the other, however, “… facts are stubborn things.”
Rat,
Tomatoes are the least of Koch’s worries . . .
I wonder if flounders eat tomatoes?
Dear Editor
Unfair target practice – too big a target! Secondly, NO ONE would waste a tomato on him.
Signs? We don’t need no stinkin’ signs man!
I think the Mayor should pay around $70K on a 2016 Ford Expedition and hire a police officer to drive him, then you can’t complain about his driving or parking anymore
Brilliant!! QQ would thus have even more to complain about while it follows the money.
Then again, what happens if he finds out that he can’t buy an election next Tuesday?
Would QQ also so be Q-ed?!?!?!
