Blue Hills deer hunting season bucked up?
The Department of Conservation and Recreation’s hosting of a (legal, ed.) deer hunt in the Blue Hills Reservation to try to thin this park’s alleged several or more fold overpopulation of deer has not gone exactly as planned.
Through three days of a scheduled four day hunt, only 53 deer had been taken by hunters out of a deer population in the park estimated at somewhere between 600 and 800.
With the assumed goal of thinning the herd down to the several hundred range, it would appear that the hunt went about as one should expect with something run by government.
Quincy Quarry considered reaching out to the Department of Conservation for comment, however, its personnel on the ground at the scene of the Blue Hills Reservation hunt would appear to gone to ground.
