Quincy Center parking ploughed over.

As should come as no great surprise to anyone living in Quincy’s residential neighborhoods, snow removal plowing in Quincy Center took a toll on this already public parking sparse part of the Q.

While Kim Jung Koch Plaza in front of City Hall was plowed and for the most part cleared from curb to curb, street parking in Quincy Center was all but unavailable other than via double parking as snowplows typically did not come anywhere close to street gutters.

Taking a break from ploughing, getting ploughed – whatever …

Granted, last night’s storm outperformed the consensus of official forecasts by at least several inches.

At the same time, however, as Kim Jong Koch Plaza in front of City Hall was thoroughly plowed from curb to curb first thing this morning, such does suggest something at least close to similar could be accomplished in residential and other parts of Quincy as well as reasonably soon after the end of a storm.

After all, among other things, the City of Quincy did declare a parking emergency for this storm so that it might be possible for snowplows to plough closer to curbs.

In any event, count on Quincy Quarry to monitor the situation to see if the City of Quincy addresses the latest round of sloppy ploughing before a hard freeze turns last night’s wet and heavy snowfall into frozen concrete.
