Quincy Quarry sees snow finally plowed?

Has Quincy Quarry’s dogged Sled Dog News Team© of news hounds finally scored their first successful coverage kill?

After the Quarry repeatedly dogged the MBTA for failing to clear snow from its handicapped parking and passenger loading area at its Quincy Center Red Line Station for days after last week’s bombogensis blizzard, the piled high snow was finally cleared.

Granted, the adjacent sidewalk is still a bit snow-clogged, but progress is still progress.

Not so clear, however, is any signs of progress on commencing to but partially demolish the MBTA’s long-condemned parking garage at its Quincy Center station.

The already oft-delayed demolish work was supposed to commence on this past Monday contemporaneous with closing of the MBTA’s Wollaston Red Line Station for at least, ed.) twenty months for reconstruction.

Not clear at this time is if the T came to it senses that initiating both detrimental impacts upon local public transit facilities was a really bad idea or if the Quincy Center demolition project is continuing to faces delays.

Quincy Quarry briefly considered reaching out to the MBTA for an explanation, but saw no point in ending up shunted along to the MBTA Excuse Generator.

That or endeavoring to ride the T in the Q these days.

Regardless, count on Quincy Quarry to continue to monitor both the Quincy Center MBTA  parking garage demolition and Wollaston Red Line station reconstruction projects and report back as appropriate.
