Dorchester renovated shingle single family house asking price drops $100,000.

The asking price of a thoroughly as well as beautifully renovated shingle sided house in go-go Dorchester’s Ashmont Hill area dropped less than a month ago from $1,199,000 to a mere $1,099,000.

The original asking price tag did not seem overly unreasonable as the house is a lovely home built in 1887 that has been thoroughly updated while still retaining the 19th-century charm for which the Ashmont Hill neighborhood is so famous.

Is this the drop in the asking a price of this nicely renovated architectural gem yet another indication that the recent and relatively hot residential real estate market is continuing to show signs of cooling off?

Stay tuned.
