– News from and commentary by Quincy Quarry News
Quincy Q-up’s continue to hit the wall, if not also the fan.
Just when one might’ve hoped that Q-up’s in the Q couldn’t get any worse, they did.
After all, we are talking the Q.
In any event, easily the biggest Q-up this week – so far, that is – involved the all but invariably inept Koch Maladministration.
Then again, such is ultimately only reasonable to expect.
The key Koch Maladministration Q-up’s involved the Maladministration’s failure to jam its so-called plan to make Quincy Center Great Again through the City Council.
Assuming that is, the actual validity of the underlying premise of “again.”
As generally covered in a Patriot Ledger article as well as more importantly better detailed in the posted comments to this Ledger story, the Maladministration failed to secure its expected passage of its so-called URDP Amendment 4 master grift by the all but invariably supplicant City Council.
Misleading this failed effort was the chair for this particular council meeting, the longtime Maladministration head cheerleader and Ward One ward heeler.
On top of the postponement of the long desired vote stuffing, a key Koch Maladministration figure most catastrophically let something big slip though his lips.
Specifically, that a major new investor in Quincy Center had recently bought key parcels of land – if not also choke points – in Quincy Center that had been targeted by the Maladministration for a takings in support of its plans to make Quincy Center Great Again.
Then follow-up coverage exposéd that the investor had no interest in selling the property that had been targeted for a now unlikely to be “friendly” takings by the Koch Maladministration.
Needless to say, shades of 20 Furnace Avenue and the still ongoing Hunt Street fiasco thus came to light in the eyes of usually somnolent, if not also supine Quincy City Council.
And yes, Quincy Quarry yet provided key behind the scenes support to the South Shore broadsheet’s latest embarrassing coverage of the Koch Maladministration.
After all, what else are friends in the media if not comrades in arms exposing that which deserved to be exposéd?
That and how there are plenty of exposés to share that exposé the fat underbelly of the Koch Maladministration.
Plus, never forget that fish rots from the head.
As always, when it comes covering things fishy in the Q, QQ is the news service to turn to for coverage.

I love the avatar of the Ward 1 ward heeler. Choosing her as the chair of the City Council Ordinance committee is the biggest joke this city has seen in quite a while. After watching last week’s city council meeting one can’t help but wonder if a visit to the proctologist would result in her finding her head.
What I meant was Chair of Downtown and Economic Growth. Maybe a proctologist can help me.
No, No Neck Nick. You had it right the first time. See http://www.quincyma.gov/Government/CITYCOUNCIL/Ordinance.cfm Plus, to be the chair of committee covering economics one should actually have to know something about economics.
Another interesting tidbit came out of the council meeting the other night while the $200,000 appropriation was being discussed. According to a peer of the ward heeler at Discover Quincy, not all that much money is budgeted for tourism in Quincy as much of out goes to piggyback on Plymouth’s efforts for its own self promotional efforts. My question then is, why do we have an executive director of tourism at Discover Quincy? I also had a discussion with a chamber member recently and was told that Lost spends most of her time marketing Quincy to Quincy residents and very little to outsiders.
No Neck,
Intriguing notion Nick – but the consensus around the QQ newsroom is that that some things are just too far lost in the forest.
