Quincy Quarry Weekly Fish Wrap:  Shooting, drinking and Sanctuary – Oh My!

This past week was quite a week, even by Quincy standards.

For but one example, easily the most massive local mutual aid police response in years hit the Q when gunfire erupted in Quincy Center during an alleged attempt to rob a drug dealer.

Not only did perhaps as many as dozens of Quincy Police, MBTA Police and State Police cruisers roll to the scene of the alleged crime in Quincy Center, all manner of news and police helicopters were flying overhead.

City officials, however, were unavailable for comment about this latest shooting in the Q.

Unfortunately for the media but surely fortunate for the local hacktocracy, most likely every City of Quincy official as well as a myriad of other assorted coatholders were safely far away from the scene of this crime  at Quincy’s annual St. Patrick’s Day groanfest of a purported roasting luncheon at the time of shooting, with many all but assuredly later hors de combat after a few pints.

That or perhaps head out of town early for the long “Evacuation Day” holiday weekend.

Local officials were also so let off the hook as regards their deserved questioning about the City’s continued dissing of the disabled when it comes to clearing snow so as to make it possible for them as well as everyone else to get around in the Q.

After all, a key measure of a local community is how it treats the least able in that community.

And speaking of media coverage, Quincy’s peerless DINO of a mayor Mayor Thomas P. Koch was the opening guest on a WBZ 1030 talk show and so pimping to be feted about his all but unique position among middling and higher Massachusetts mostly Democratic officials to be against providing sanctuary for undocumented residents.

No hot calls made on talk radio!?!?

The thing is, NO ONE CALLED into this radio show to ask any hard questions of Mayor Koch on his inhospitable position.

Instead, most of the but seven callers into this talk radio show were rather obvious shills given their hagiographic homages of the mayor.

For example, one especially obsequious Koch sucker identified himself as a trash collector who “works” for the City of Quincy’s Park and Forestry Department.

Who knew that one could kiss tukas via a phone call?

What do you mean there aren’t many callers?

Needless to say, given the lack of hot talk and thus probably also low listener numbers, one can only assume that Mayor Koch won’t be invited back again any time soon.

If ever …

In any event, Quincy Quarry’s every growing legions of loyal readers can expect the Quarry to continue to kick tukas whenever such a kicking is deserved.
