Quincy City Hall privy nearly toppled by desperate man?

The Quincy Quarry Disaster Accident Response Team (“DART”) continues to catch disturbing darts of breaking bad news in the Q while monitoring the City of Quincy’s police scanner.

After this morning’s apparent confusion by first responders during a medical call on one floor at the Granite Place senior housing highrise at 125 Granite Street was quickly followed by a fire call on another floor of the same building at roughly 5:28 PM on that same day yet another city emergency dispatcher call went out that an alarm notice had come in that someone was suspected of trying to tip over one of the two iconic outhouses at the old City Hall renovation project site.

In spite of what clearly appeared to have been a quick as well as timely call to the dispatcher, along with what the monitoring Quincy Quarry DART members felt was a solid description of the alleged potty perp by the caller, the purported perp apparently managed to successfully flee the scene.

Fortunately, at least the privy survived his attack without toppling and so for a change did not result in yet another hazardous materials mess at a City of Quincy facility.

Unfortunately, the responding officers reported finding the old City Hall renovation work site wide open – or at least far from secure and which was so clearly announced on the police scanner for any potential copper thief to so hear.

Even more troubling, however, was that not only had the old City Hall renovation project project manager apparently failed to enforce reasonable site security standards – much less endeavor Best Practices – after calling it a day as well as in the wake last September’s disastrous as well as arguably avoidable fire at old City Hall

Further, the scanner chatter in this instance indicated that a call to the project manager would likely (not, ed.) be made until tomorrow morning.

Business as usual

Quincy Quarry considered making a call to City Hall for comment, but then realized that it had closed for the day last night as well as that embattled incumbent Mayor Thomas P. Koch’s spokesmodel was probably both long gone as well as tied up dialing for campaign dollar donations for Mayor Koch’s free spending campaign so as to attempt to save his political career.

While it is next to impossible to imagine what the Q is next to go wrong in the Q, expect Quincy Quarry to continue to bravely as well as boldly report the news as it continues to break badly in the Q.
