Hillary Clinton is now just as unpopular as Donald Trump.

 

A Gallup poll published Tuesday shows Hillary Clinton is now tied with her former opponent, President Donald Trump – both had only 36% favorability numbers.

While Clinton was only down by 1% among Democrats, her numbers dropped by 6% among both Republicans as well as independents. 

 

Not only was the drop among independents considerable, one would have thought that she had hit bottom among Republicans a long time ago, but apparently not.

Not clear, however, was just exactly why Mrs. Clinton’s numbers continue to plummet as Gallup did not publicly release any such particulars. 

 

For example, could her poor campaigning skills continue to haunt her, could it be her unwillingness to concede that she was a bad candidates, could it be that people are angry with her for losing to now-President Donald Trump?

 

Or could it just be her?

Similarly, even Hillary Clinton’s usually popular bon vivant of a  husband has seen his favorability numbers drop to only 45% – and so be down 5% from a year ago. 

 

In Bill Clinton’s case, however, his unfavorable drop among Democrats was only outstripped by his favorably drop among independents; amazingly – or maybe not so, his numbers among Republicans were essentially unchanged.

 

Conversely, Melania Trump’s popularity continues to soar. 

 

Needless to say, Quincy Quarry has its theories.
