Quincy Quarry Weekly Fish Wrap: Some good news out of Washington DC for a change!

The good news: the Washington Nationals swept the St. Louis Cardinals and now a Washington major league baseball team is headed to the World Series for the first time since 1933 and last won one in 1924, albeit by the Washington Senators who moved to Minnesota in 1961 and become the Twins.

That and the Nationals themselves were once the Montreal Expos before they moved to DC in 2005.

And for some local comic relief, there is the curious leave taking announced this week by Fall River Mayor Jasiel Correia II.

Correia is taking his leave given his need to address his two indictments on twenty four felony counts by the feds.

On the other hand, the last laugh belongs to Correia as he who expects to continue collect his near ten thousand dollar monthly salary until his term in office as mayor expires at the end of this calendar year.
