For the second time in less than a week, Quincy locals hoping to finish up a good night’s sleep were awakened by the sound of a low-flying newscopter looking to score some vehicular accident scene video to feed onto local morning news coverage.
Apparently, an SUV smacked a telephone pole on Water Street in West Quincy shortly before daybreak.

One can only assume that the driver did not see the pole as it was dark out at the time of the accident.
Either that or was distracted while using her/his smartphone.
Regardless, what is certain is that the local television station must have been desperate for content this morning.

On average, there are around 6,000,000 automobile crashes every year in the US. SIX MILLION! But the nitwits at the local TV stations seem to think it’s good reporting to send their helicopters out and wake people up, and show “live pictures of the scene” — regardless of whether there’s anything actually going on or not. Then, later in the day, they’ll often have a reporter “on the scene” babbling about the crash that happened hours earlier.
