This morning’s sunrise was broken with the sound of helicopter rotor blades beating the air.

While details are still breaking, early reports indicate that a pedestrian was struck on Southern Artery shortly before 6 AM somewhere between Brackett Street and McGrath Highway in the Quincy Point neighborhood.

Accordingly, morning commute traffic has been rerouted so that the accident scene can be cleared and then investigated.

Rerouted for how long, however, remains to be seen.

No word about the condition of the struck pedestrian other than that the said to be thirty-six year old man was been transported to Boston Medical Center.
