Massachusetts State House votes to ban handheld cellphone use while driving.

In a move which left even the seen it all and thus well-past hard-boiled staff at Quincy Quarry gobsmacked, the overwhelmingly Democratic Massachusetts State House of Representatives not only actually passed an arguably consequential piece of legislation, it so also approved legislation long promoted by Republican Governor Charlie Baker.

Granted, the bill still has to pass in the also overwhelmingly Democratic State Senate; however, one can now only assume that the State Senate will probably not blink on a bill which offers potential benefit to public safety – if actually enforced, that is – and so also vote favorably.
