The Global attention span is getting shorter.

Way shorter.

Such is the consequence of information overflow per a recent research article detailing the obvious.

As comes as no surprise to school teachers and the parents of children who have cellphones, attention spans are declining.

“I think a lot of people are feeling a kind of exhaustion ..,” says Philipp Lorenz-Spreen, one of the study’s co-authors.

This means that we are becoming interested in trends more quickly, but are also losing interest in the same content more swiftly, adds Sune Lehmann, another study co-author.

One particularly worrisome negative implication of a short public attention span is that it appears to be harder to hold people accountable, says Lorenz-Spreen.
