Republican Governors who survived the Blue Wave: “We won women” voters.

At the recent Republican Governors Association meeting in Arizona, most governors downplayed midterm results and say the party does not need to change.

Women vote

For example, unlike President Trump, Maryland Governor Larry Hogan reached out to women early on during his later successful reelection bid for their input as opposed to that for which Trump is well-known.

In turn, exit polls showed Hogan did a couple of percentage points better among women than his now jealous and at times testy opponent Ben Jealous

In turn, Governor Hogan won reelection by 14 points in a state that Hillary Clinton had carried by 26 points two years before and so became just the second incumbent “… Republican governor reelected in the entire 242-year history of … (Maryland).”

No word, however, if Hogan’s wife dope slapped him upside the head to listen to women or if he already knew to do so.

Additionally, the most popular governor in the country, Massachusetts Republican Governor Charlie Baker, was quoted as saying he has tried his best to be boring and bipartisan, noting that “I’ve been called the most boring governor in the history of Massachusetts by the media in Massachusetts.  You know what?  I think that’s great!”

For those who do not recall the elections results in Massachusetts, not only did Baker enjoy both the best margin of victory for a Republican running for governor in a deep Blue state, he also enjoyed one of the largest margins of victory of any gubernatorial candidate.

Additionally, Republican Governor Baker also won bigger than did Massachusetts progressive Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren in her reelection bid with a 67% greater winning margin.
