Environmental Police higher-ups helped scuttle tickets for their colonel’s friend.

The Boston broadsheet reports that it obtained via a public records request an internal Environmental Police memo.

In turn, the broadsheet’s coverage is widely viewed as fueling the suspension without pay of the colonel.

The memo describes a behind-the-scenes effort by police to both void and then round up copies of moving violation citations that were issued to minors who were allegedly riding dirt bikes in a public green space and who are tied to the colonel’s now former neighbor.

“I am shocked, shocked …”
A Warner Brothers masterpiece

Particularly interesting in the broadsheet’s coverage was not only did it detail various ways tickets can be fixed, including even ways legal, it also described how it appears that personnel in the department did what could be done to leave behind a paper trail that indicated improper favors done.

That and added how the handling of these citations  was “… done in kind of a ham-handed and clumsy way.”
