Cattle cause California commute congestion.

From the Left Coast comes word of an accident involving a livestock trailer in Stockton, California and the herd of cattle riding in the trailer taking advantage of the opportunity to go on the lam so as to endeavor to escape ending up on the menu at – say – a Sizzler.

“It was a bit of a stampede,” said California Highway Patrol officer Heather Lundbom.

One police officer sustained minor injuries during the round-up and was treated at a local hospital.

Most of the cattle were quickly corralled by first responders with the help of a cattle wrangler who was passing through, although at least one white longhorn managed to escape through nearby vineyards and so postpone its capture for a couple of hours.
