President Donald Trump’s insistence on holding a one-on-one meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin hobbled United States intelligence agencies that would usually get an intimate look at such a sit-down, but American spooks still have extraordinary capabilities to piece together what was discussed.

Key is the existence of the top-secret Special Collection Service which which specializes in tapping adversaries’ communications on the fly.

 

For example, those of Putin’s entourage at recent summit in Helsinki Finland between United States President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

 

Under virtually any other president, audio and video recordings of such a critical event would be a given, especially if there was not a top aide in the room specifically there to take detailed notes.
