Rockland Town Administrator denies inappropriate behavior towards the female Vice Chair of Rockland’s Board of Selectmen reports WATD 95.9 FM.

Rockland’s Town Administrator was placed on paid leave last week pending an investigation involving “(allegations of, ed.) serious misconduct by certain town officials,” according to Rockland’s Town Counsel John Clifford.

The Vice-Chair posted on her now private Facebook page that she requested the investigation in the wake of an allegation that Town Administrator behaved inappropriately towards her.

Calls to her cellphone by WATD, however, have not been returned.

The attorney representing the Town Administrator provided a statement to WATD earlier today and which notes that his client also requested an investigation prior to his client being placed on leave.

The Town Administrator’s attorney added that “(my client, ed.) … is in full support of an independent investigation into this matter, and requested that the Rockland Board of Selectman conduct an independent investigation prior to its decision to do so. We are confident that such an investigation will reveal that he never acted inappropriately towards the (Vice Chair, ed.).  (My client, ed.) plans to work with investigators to uncover all the facts surrounding the incident, and he looks forward to an honest and truthful resolution to this matter.  (He, ed.) thanks everyone who has supported him and continues to support him during this time.”
