Federal grand jury targets Massachusetts State Police overtime abuse.
A federal grand jury is investigating the alleged theft of overtime pay and other misconduct involving members of the Massachusetts State Police, according to multiple people with knowledge of the criminal probe reports the Boston broadsheet.
Such has long been expected inside of the Quincy Quarry newsroom given that the alleged overtime abuse entailed federal funding.
Needless to say, Massachusetts State Attorney Maura Healy surely could not be happier that the feds look to be looking to take on this live hand grenade of a mess during an election year for her.
Additionally, on Friday Massachusetts State Police commander Colonel Kerry Gilpin announced that five more troopers from Troop E would be called in for hearings next week given “alleged discrepancies between overtime pay received and hours worked.”
The Massachusetts State Police now have a total of about thirty-five troopers under investigation for overtime fraud.
