Don’t believe everything you see and hear in an internet video.

 

That’s the message from movie director Jordan Peele and BuzzFeed, who teamed up for a public-service video announcement that puts Peele’s words into the mouth of former President Barack Obama.

 

 

This seemingly genuine video was generated using After Effects — an off-the-shelf motion-graphics program —  and FakeApp  — an artificial-intelligence video-editing program that has been used for superimposing celebrities’ and others’ faces into porn scenes as well as other such (ab)uses.

 

Simply put, available technology has blown well past making amusing music video memes.
