Quincy Quarry Weekly Fish Wrap: The Ides of March are still upon us …
For starters, flush with overtime pay notwithstanding, at least some Massachusetts State Police troopers cannot buy a break.
For example, after only properly laying low for a variety of good reasons, Governor Charlie Baker put two in the hat of State Police Troop E by ordering its shutting down and assigning those not (yet, ed.) suspended without pay Troop E troopers to other troops.
Granted, while nothing has yet been officially said about what’s up for Logan Airport’s F Troop, early reports clearly indicate that this rubber gun brigade is already taking unfriendly fire.
But now for a lighter moment; after all, what would April Fool’s Day be without something foolish to report?
Locally, the Quincy Police force issued a be on the lookout report for a stolen street sweeper during brunch time on Easter Sunday and which fell on the First of April this year.
Amazingly, not only was this amusing alert actually legit, it even more amazingly did not entail the sweeper jacking of a City of Quincy street sweeper.
Most amazing of all, however, is that the sweeper was quickly recovered in Medford shortly after it was taken for a joyride.
Not so amazing, however, the joyrider got away.
After all, only in the Q.
That and who only knows what bodes for next week …
