President Trump’s top economic adviser quits after tariffs’ dispute.

After over a year on the job and championing President Trump’s recent tax bill, Director of the National Economic Council and thus the President’s top economic advisor, Gary Cohn announced on Tuesday that he would resign.

In turn, this decision to resign is widely viewed as fueled by his losing a fight over President Trump’s plans for hefty steel and aluminum import tariffs.
