Hefner given access to former State Senate President Rosenberg’s e-mails.

After sexual misconduct allegations were leveled against his husband late last year, then-Senate President Stan Rosenberg reassured his colleagues about a key concern: his husband, Bryon Hefner, had no influence on Senate business and as Rosenberg had promised previously would be the case given past problems involving Hefner.

But according to interviews with those who dealt with Hefner, and communications reviewed by the Globe, Hefner was deeply involved in matters that Rosenberg had vowed to bar him from involvement when he ascended to the presidency in 2015 during a previous scandal involving Hefner.

While there are still considerable problems as regards protecting those who were allegedly victimized by Hefner and these victims are thus threatening to not come forward, then still State Senate President Rosenberg continuing to allow Hefner access and influence after promising to not allow such now pose likely pose fatal problems for Rosenberg’s widely assumed plans to return to the Senate Presidency.

That and new questions as to who all knew what as well as when did they know.
